This course trains neonatal nurses in the setup and management of the Infant Incubator and Infant Radiant Warmer, covering skin-servo control, humidity weaning protocols, use of polyethylene wraps, and the structured transition from incubator to open cot. Participants practice responding to common thermal challenges: an infant becoming hypothermic during prolonged kangaroo care, an intraoperative temperature drop in the radiant warmer, and the temperature instability associated with late-onset sepsis. Eliminating kernicterus requires a systematic, unit-wide approach. This course equips nursery nurses, paediatricians, and community midwives with the skills to implement the Integrated Jaundice Diagnosis & Treatment System. Participants practice transcutaneous bilirubin measurement, plotting on hour-specific nomograms, initiating single and double phototherapy, measuring spectral irradiance, and managing the phototherapy weaning and rebound assessment protocol. The course includes a module on parent communication, ensuring that families understand the rationale for treatment and the importance of follow-up after discharge. Participants leave with a tailored implementation plan for their own nursery or community setting.

Standardized assessment is the foundation of early intervention. This comprehensive programme certifies healthcare workers—hospital-based and community—in the use of the Digital Baby Scale, Circumference Measuring Tape, and Handheld Audiometer. Participants practice dynamic weighing, correct head circumference measurement technique with consistent tension, and automated ABR screening with electrode placement and impedance checks. A practical examination requires each trainee to perform a complete three-component screen on three infants under observation, achieving measurements within 5% of the supervisor’s values. Certification is valid for two years and is tracked in the training management system.
